We've been getting a lot of
email from people who have questions about version 4.5 of
the Psychedelic Screen Saver. Here are answers to some of
the more common questions:
1) I've already registered
v3.x / v4.0, does version 4.5 require an upgrade to my
existing registration?
Version 4.5 is
available as a
free
upgrade
to all users who have
registered any 3.x (or later) version of the Psychedelic
Screen Saver. So, if you have already registered a 3.x
or 4.0 version, you can download and install version 4.5
without any fuss.
2) When will version 4.5 be
available?
Version v4.5 is available
now on our
download page.
3) What's new in version 4.5?
The main features of v4.5
are:
- User interface has
been completely redesigned.
- Sound
synchronization has been improved
- Uses *much* less
disk space (less than 1/3 of what 3.x versions
used).
- PSY file format has
been dramatically optimized in order to reduce file
size.
- Supports keyboard
commands for simulating volume/wave amplitude
spikes.
- Sweep arcs for
modules that use symmetry
- Custom "Wipes" for
clearing the screen
However, the most
important features of version 4.5 are "under the hood."
Much of internal code has been redesigned and rewritten
in order to allow the software to evolve more gracefully
than it has in the past.
4) How can I submit a
suggestion for future updates?
