What are Plug-In Modules?
Plug-In Modules are 3rd party modules that you can install in order
to use to increase the variety of patterns that The Hypnogenic Screen Saver can
display. Like the modules that come with the screen saver, these modules can
take advantage of the sound sync capabilities and the palette animation capabilities
provided by Hypno. To
install a Plug-In module, just copy it (usually a *.DLL file) to the PlugIns
subdirectory under the directory where the Hypnogenic Screen Saver is installed.
I'm a programmer, how can I write my own Plug-In Modules?
We've provided an SDK that allows programmers to write Plug-In
Modules that work with both The Hypnogenic Screen Saver and The
Psychedelic Screen Saver. The SDK comes with samples and
documentation that explain how to build Plug-In DLLs that take advantage of the sound sync
and palette animation features of Hypno. The SDK is designed to make
development of sophisticated Plug-In modules as simple as possible. Click here to download a beta version of the SDK.
Where can I get additional Plug-In Modules?
We will be making additional Plug-In modules available on this page.

some email at Hypno with a short
description of the Plug-In and a URL where it can be downloaded.

The Circle Sample from the Plug-In SDK. Very primitive but useful
for learning how the screen saver controls work. |

The Bounce Sample from the Plug-In SDK Simple but entertaining --
draws balls that bounce off the side of the screen. |

Plots a simple graph of the control values. This is a good setting
to play with if you are learning how the controls work. It's also good for
viewing sound data. |

Draws text which contorts as it moves about the screen. You can
customize the message it writes by creating a file called msgtext.txt in your windows
directory that contains the custom message. |
